At the recently concluded IIFA Awards 2015, hosts of the evening – Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor – took potshots at anyone and everyone.
They didn't spare Deepika Padukone's ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his box office duds – "Bombay Velvet" and "Roy". Paying tribute to Shah Rukh Khan's "Dilwale Dulhani Le Jayenge", the actors put together a hilarious skit.
"Ranbir should be named Roti in the film because his co-star Anushka was called Rosie and that makes Rosie-Roti. And they both took the Rosie-Roti away from Anurag Kashyap's pocket," Deccan Chronicle quoted them as saying. They also renamed "Roy" as "Destroy".
Interestingly, a few days ago, Singh reportedly batted for Ranbir's and other artistes' performances in "Bombay Velvet".
Taking a jibe at the AIB Roast controversy, the duo cracked cryptic jokes. "We did something which offended many people. The gig involved us and a very famous director (Karan Johar). Many people said many things about it and FIR was also lodged against us. Politicians were angry. We are very sorry about 'Gunday'."
The show ended on a high with Hrithik Roshan's power-packed performance and witnessed the best being honoured with top awards. Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut took home the Best Performance in a Leading Role Male and Female for "Haider" and "Queen", respectively.
Rajkumar Hirani picked up Best Direction for giving cine-goers a thought-provoking "PK". Deepika Padukone bagged Woman of The Year award and called her mom 'the real hero' in her acceptance speech. Rumoured couple Ranveer-Deepika had a cute moment on stage as the former went on one knee for her.
