Recent reports suggested Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus "Bajirao Mastani", which is scheduled to release on 18 December, has been pushed for the next year.
However, it has now been reported that the period drama, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, has not been postponed and will hit the screens as per the scheduled date.
"The film is being shot on a war footing, pun intended. There are many never-seen-before war scenes, dances and dramatic confrontations. But Sanjay is on schedule," a source close to the filmmaker told DNA.
Earlier, rumour had it that the makers wanted to postpone the release date to avoid clash with Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer "Dilwale", which recently announced to hit screens on the same day (18 December).
"In fact, he (Sanjay) didn't even know about Shah Rukh's plans or that there was talk of the film being postponed," the source further added.
Further, the makers of "Bajirao Mastani" are planning to release the trailer soon.
Confirming the news, a spokesperson from the film's co-producers, Eros International, said: "We are gearing up for a December 18 release and theatres are being blocked accordingly. The trailer will be coming out soon."
