Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is all set to capture hearts as Peshwa Bajirao in his upcoming film "Bajirao Mastani".
Ranveer is going to appear in never-seen-before look in this period drama, opposite Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
To prepare for this role, it was reported earlier that fun-loving Ranveer had stopped talking to anyone on the sets to get into the intense and deep character.
However, recently, he told a leading daily he encountered Peshwa Bajirao's ghost during one of his shooting schedules.
"I used to not believe in ghosts until this incident. I really think I saw Bajirao's ghost once. It was a very trippy experience and I completely freaked out. I remember it as one of the most difficult days of the shoot. I thought I felt some kind of presence and something told me it's him," Deccan Chronicle quoted him as saying.
Later, he said he started thinking what would happend if he encountered Peshwa Bajirao's spirit in real. "I started to think what if I encounter his ghost and connect to his spirit and all. I don't know what made me think of it. But it was the following week that I felt it actually happen. I had a tough task ahead of me on that day of the shoot, and I was praying hard to get it right. There was a black wall on the sets on which some white dust had settled in the shape of Bajirao's figure. It had the turban, the eyes, nose, the mooch and the arms. The resemblance was there for all to see," he said.
According to Ranveer, it might have been his mind playing tricks, but he also confessed he had a strong instinctive feeling. He further said he is not someone who believes in ghosts, but he had few moments of superstition.
Meanwhile, Ranveer is busy promoting the film along with his co-stars Deepika and Priyanka. However, Priyanka, who has missed most of the film's promotional events due to the shooting of her American TV series "Quantico", recently visited India for a day for promotions.
In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial, Deepika is playing the character of Mastani and Priyanka will be seen in the role of Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.
"Bajirao Mastani" is the love story of Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani.
The film will hit the theatres on 18 December along with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's "Dilwale".
