Ranveer Singh has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club at the domestic box office once again. "Bajirao Mastani" has grossed over Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office and is now aiming to beat the record of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's last directorial "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-leela".
"Bajirao Mastani" earned Rs 108.70 crore net income in nine days from the domestic box office. The historical period drama earned Rs 12.25 crore on its second Friday and Rs 10.30 crore on Saturday. With Rs 108 crore, "Bajirao Mastani" shattered the records of Varun Dhawan's "ABCD 2" (Rs 105.74 crore) and the film is now the fifth highest grosser of 2015.
"#BajiraoMastani crosses ₹ 100 cr mark. [Week 2] Fri 12.25 cr, Sat 10.30 cr. Total: ₹ 108.70 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Ranveer starrer is racing ahead of Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Dilwale" at the box office and trade analysts have predicted that the final collection of "Bajirao Mastani" will be better than SRK's film, according to Business Standard.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, who plays the role of Kashibai in the film, said that she doesn't believe in the number game.
"Numbers change every Friday, I've never believed in them. I'm not the film's producer so I don't even go into numbers. I don't even try to think about it. I'm an artist and I want to do my job which is between 'action' and 'cut' and to promote the film..." Priyanka said at an event, according to IANS.
Further talking about her role, she said that playing the second lead doesn't affect her.
"At the beginning of my career, someone said there are no small roles, there are only small actors and I'm not a small actor. I believe tremendously in my capabilities."
"I had only eight scenes in 'Kaminey' and I was just five years old in the industry at that time. Roles are never small or big... you should give your 100 percent always," Priyanka said.
