The launch of upcoming power cruiser from Bajaj is likely to mark the entry of a new brand of the company as Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, says the VS400 may not wear Pulsar tag as rumoured.
Bajaj is now expected to launch the VS400, which is also called as the Pulsar VS400, shortly after the festive season in November. While it was rumoured earlier that the new Bajaj cruiser would come during the festive season, now it has come from horse's mouth that the launch has been pushed back, so as to not interfere with the festive season sales with the new product.

While speaking to Moneycontrol, Rajiv said with the upcoming VS400, Bajaj is looking to enter Royal Enfield's territory, adding that when entering into a new segment, it would be better to have a new brand. It may be recalled that Bajaj has done the same with the V motorcycles and it has been bringing sizable numbers to the company.
"It will be an interesting launch because it will not be in all probability a Pulsar. For now, let me just say that a 400 cc Pulsar makes as much sense as a 150 cc Royal Enfield," the publication quoted Rajiv as saying. He also said that Bajaj will roll out the new range of Pulsars with updated styling in next few months.
Bajaj has been testing what is known as the Pulsar VS400 on the Indian roads for quite long time now. The company, which showcased the concept at the Auto Expo 2014 as Pulsar CS400, has been incorporating several changes to make it fit into the new category. With the VS400, Bajaj seems to be waiting to unravel many surprises.
As we have known for some time, the Pulsar VS400 will be powered by a 373.27cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark, fuel-injected mill mated to six-speed transmission. It gets twin instrument console — one on the handlebar as seen in other bikes and the other on the fuel tank, an all-black exhaust, newly-designed split seats, disc brakes for both wheels and alloy wheels.
