Bajaj Auto has reportedly added a third colour option to the V, a commuter motorcycle that has been made from the metal of the dismantled INS Vikrant — India's first aircraft carrier. The company has added the Cocktail Wine Red colour option, with which the motorcycle has been spotted in a dealership by Bharat Autos. The V, when launched in March, was offered in Ebony Black and Pearl White shades only.
The report says the new colour has been added without an increase in price. The V is priced Rs. 62,076 (ex-showroom, Karnataka) and has a 149.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled DTS-i engine that can churn out maximum power of 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Bajaj V features a fuel tank of 13 litres.
The V measures 2,044mm in length, 780mm in width and 1,070mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,315mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 165mm and kerb weight of 135.5 kg. The V carries a unique piece of metal with a special embossing on the fuel tank that reads: "Made with the invincible metal of INS Vikrant."
The sales figures of the motorcycle indicate it has become another successful model for the company. Bajaj Auto sold 20,057 units of V in April and it is the 10th bestselling two-wheeler of the month.
