Pune-based two-wheeler maker Bajaj's 125cc motorcycle V 12, which was unveiled in November, is expected to go on sales this month. Priced at Rs 56,200, V12 is the younger sibling of Bajaj's much-acclaimed model V - the bike made from the metal of dismantled INS Vikrant. It has now started arriving at the company's showrooms.
The images of the new Bajaj V12, which were believed to have been taken at the company's dealerships, have started making the rounds on the internet, suggesting that deliveries of the new motorcycle would commence soon. Powering the new V12 is 124.6cc single cylinder DTS-i engine sourced from Discover family. The engine will be tuned to develop 10bhp at 8000rpm and 10.8Nm of torque at 5500rpm mated to five-speed gearbox.
V 12 is same as Bajaj V in terms of looks and features save for the front disc brake. From what we understand, Bajaj's new V12 would be offered in a single colour. Its bigger sibling V, which made market entry in March comes powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled DTS-i engine that can churn out a maximum power of 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
Priced at Rs 62,132 (ex-showroom Delhi), V measures 2,044mm in length, 780mm in width and 1,070mm in height. It comes with a wheelbase of 1,315mm and offers a ground clearance of 165mm. Bajaj V has notched sales figure of 2 lakh in the country in eight months of its launch and is still counting.
