Bajaj Auto has introduced a new shade for the V motorcycle christened as Ocean Blue colour and priced at Rs 66,586, ex-showroom Mumbai. The new colour has been launched without increase in price over the other colour options.
Bajaj V, a commuter motorcycle that has been made from the metal of the dismantled INS Vikrant — India's first aircraft carrier — was launched with the Ebony Black and Pearl White colour options in March 2016. The company added Heroic Red colour in July. With the new shade, the V is now sold in four colour options.
The motorcycle has notched sales figure of 2 lakh within eight months of its launch. The company is said to have ramped up the production of the motorcycle from September owing to the skyrocketing demand.
The V is currently retailing at Rs. 62,076 (ex-showroom, Karnataka). The motorcycle is powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled DTS-i engine that generates 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The V measures 2,044mm in length, 780mm in width and 1,070mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,315mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 165mm and kerb weight of 135.5 kg. The V carries a unique piece of metal with a special embossing on the fuel tank that reads: "Made with the invincible metal of INS Vikrant."
