Bajaj Auto has introduced a new shade for the V motorcycle christened as Heroic Red. A commuter motorcycle that has been made from the metal of the dismantled INS Vikrant — India's first aircraft carrier — the V in the new shade was spotted at a dealership last month. The new colour will be sold along with the existing Ebony Black and Pearl White shades.

The new colour has been added without increase in price. The V is currently retailing at Rs. 62,076 (ex-showroom, Karnataka). The motorcycle is powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled DTS-i engine that generates 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

The V measures 2,044mm in length, 780mm in width and 1,070mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,315mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 165mm and kerb weight of 135.5 kg. The V carries a unique piece of metal with a special embossing on the fuel tank that reads: "Made with the invincible metal of INS Vikrant."

More bikes from V platform

Bajaj Auto is also planning to launch at least three motorcycle models from the V platform, reports the Hindu BusinessLine. While the V15 debuted in end-March, the second product is expected to be launched sometime around November and the third product will be out around May-June 2017. With the new launches, Bajaj Auto is expecting to increase its market share in the executive commuter space from 40,000 units per month to many folds.
