Three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has unveiled its quadricycle RE 60.
Dubbed Qute, Bajaj's quadricycle will be exported to 16 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. For now, Bajaj Qute will not go on sale in India as the company is waiting for the Supreme Court's permission to sell quadricycle models in the country. The export will begin early next month and Bajaj will start with around 100 units initially.
Powered by an all new water-cooled 217 cc single-cylinder engine coupled with 5-speed manual gearbox, Bajaj Qute has a fuel efficiency of 36 kmpl and a top speed of 70km per hour. In terms of dimensions, Bajaj Qute measures 2,752 mm in length, 1,312 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height.
Bajaj Qute is the first India-made quadricycle to get the European WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) certification awarded by RDW Netherlands.
"With Qute, we are now raising the bar and ushering in a new transportation solution that is cleaner, safer and more comfortable. Our partners across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe are excited about the growth opportunities that Qute can bring for us," said Rakesh Sharma, President of International Business at Bajaj Auto.
