Pune-based two-wheeler maker Bajaj has been testing its powerful cruiser the Pulsar VS400 (Vantage Sport) in different terrains in India for quite some time now. While the Pulsar VS400, which is popularly known by its concept name the Pulsar CS400 (Cruiser Sport), has been linked to several launch dates, Bajaj has been decisively mum on the launch of the model in the country.
It was widely speculated that the Pulsar VS400 would be launched in the country in August. However, that did not happen. Now as we enter September, the latest word on the web is that Bajaj might be looking at a date this month.
The biking enthusiasts have already seen several images of the Pulsar VS400 in different forms. The latest one was from Ladakh, where the bike was seen posing for the camera for a TVC. From what we understand, Bajaj has finished testing the model in the country and it is likely to enter production soon.
Bajaj Pulsar VS400, then Pulsar CS400, was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The bike is expected to look the same in its production-version with minor tweaks in style. At the heart, Bajaj's powerful cruiser VS400 will be powered by a 373.27cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark engine that develops 34.5bhp at 8,000rpm. It is expected to get twin instrument console — one on the handlebar as seen in other bikes and the other on the fuel tank and wide tyres. It will get an all-black exhaust, newly-designed split seats, disc brakes for both wheels and alloy wheels with a new look.
The Pulsar VS400 is expected to come in come in two variants -- with ABS and without ABS. As for pricing, it is likely to get a price tag in in the range of Rs. 1.7 lakh to Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
