After rumours surfaced online that Pune- based motorcycle maker Bajaj is planning to expand its Pulsar range in India with a new Pulsar 400, here comes the news that a Pulsar 400 prototype has been snapped, probably for the first time, with RS400 stickers.
The fresh batch of spy shots of Pulsar RS400 comes from Indian Autos Blog reader Shivam, who is believed to have taken the photos inside a service station.
From the images, the Pulsar RS400 looks production-ready and shares lot of similarities with its sibling Pulsar RS200.
The differently styled tail light of Pulsar RS200 is also seen here in the new Pulsar 400.The new Pulsar is likely to have ABS as standard.
The Pulsar RS400 is expected to get power from single-cylinder 373.2 cc liquid cooled engine which does duty in the KTM Duke 390.
The engine currently has the capacity to churn out the KTM Duke 390's 43.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Earlier reports had said that the Pulsar RS400 would be launched in India by March 2016, but now, with the emergence of new spy shots, it looks like motor enthusiasts may not have to wait that long to press the throttle of the new model.
The Pulsar RS400 is likely to be priced at around ₹2 lakh.
