The Bajaj Pulsar 200SS rumour mills are on a roll for the last few weeks with several launch dates linked to the Pune-based motorcycle maker's next big ticket. Now it looks like the wait is getting over as the latest word on the internet suggests that Bajaj will pull the wraps off its new bike in early 2015.
A new report of AutoCar India, citing its sources claims that the highly anticipated Pulsar 200SS will see the light of the day in the first quarter of 2015. The two-wheeler enthusiasts in the country have been awaiting the launch of Bajaj's sports bike Pulsar 200SS for some time and now it appears like the launch is not too far off.
Bajaj Pulsar 200SS, the fully-faired avatar of Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, has made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and leaked reports with the latest one being the undisguised avatar of the bike from a Turkey show.
The two-wheeler lovers will already have a pretty clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of this sports bike. But in case, you missed it, Bajaj Pulsar 200SS is likely to borrow the same engine of its sibling 200NS.
The current engine of 200NS has the capacity to churn out 23.52PS of power @9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque @8,000rpm.
The engine is expected to come synchronised to a 6-speed gearbox, however there are also reports that a fuel injection technology could also make its way into the new Pulsar 200SS. The interesting bit is that the recent spy shots have also shown ABS ring for Pulsar 200SS. It is still unclear whether Bajaj is planning to bring ABS 200SS to India, but the option does not look feasible for the Indian market in terms of the pricing.
However, if Bajaj brings Pulsar 200SS with ABS, it would help the company to have an upper hand in the market. If that is taken care, the next big thing for Bajaj would be the pricing of Pulsar 200SS. As Bajaj is always concerned about the cost of its offering, we expect Pulsar 200SS also to get an aggressive price tag in the market.
In India, Pulsar 200SS will be pitched against Hero Karizma R, Yamaha YZF-R15 and KTM RC200 and if rumours have a say, the fully-faired Pulsar will get a price tag around ₹1.5 lakh.
