Bajaj, the Pune-based motorcycle maker, is prepping to launch the fully-faired Pulsar 200SS bike in India.
Two-wheeler lovers in the country have already seen enough spy shots and read reports about this upcoming model of Pulsar. But now, ahead of its speculated launch in March, a fresh batch image of the 200SS model shows the bike in four different colours.
The folks at IndianHoods reveal that Pulsar 200SS will be hitting the roads in four colours - yellow, black, blue and red. From the images, it appears that the black-coloured model will not have a secondary paint on its body; but, the other three - red, yellow and blue - will have white as their secondary colour.
Motor enthusiasts in the country have been waiting for this stylish machine from Bajaj for quite a while now. Recent reports have indicated that the wait will be over by mid-2015, with March being touted as the probable launch month.
Pulsar 200SS, the fully-faired version of 200NS, is likely to be powered by the same 199.5 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, triple-spark engine of its sibling. It is being speculated that the bike will come with fuel injection technology and ABS.
The current engine of 200NS has the capacity to churn out 23.52PS of power at 9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. The engine is likely to come mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the stopping power is likely to come from 280mm and 230mm disc brakes.
As for the features, expect it to get dual projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a differently-shaped tail lamp.
Previous spy shots have shown the Pulsar 200SS with a Saree Guard, a feature mostly associated with the Indian bikes and scooters, indicating that the bike has started reaching the showrooms in India (saree guard helps to prevent sarees and dupattas from getting entangled in the rear wheel).
The bike is expected to be price around ₹1.5 lakh. In India, Pulsar 200SS' rivals are Hero Karizma R, Yamaha YZF-R15 and KTM RC200 .
