Bajaj Auto, India's renowned two-wheeler manufacturer, is reportedly set to unveil its all new Pulsar 200 SS in the motorcycle market.
The bike, which looked like a faired version of Bajaj's Pulsar 200NS, was spotted in the testing stages in Ooty. According to various reports the bike is the test mule version of Bajaj's next offering in the 200cc segment - Pulsar 200SS.
With the Auto Expo 2014 scheduled for February, Bajaj is expected to debut a sportier version of 200NS at the event. According to an Auto Car report, the Pulsar 200SS features alloy wheels similar to the ones seen in its sibling 200NS and comes with fairing mounted rear view mirrors and wind protection visor.
Baja is yet to confirm details of the bike's engine specifications. Reports suggest that it would pack the retuned version of four-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine of 200Ns. The 200NS is powered by a four-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which has an output of 23.65 Bhp and a torque of 18.3 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 10-11 seconds. The bike is currently priced ₹87,794 (ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The upcoming 200SS is likely to be priced slightly higher than 200 NS.
Bajaj has also introduced three new dual-tone shades for its Pulsar 200NS model. The bike, originally launched in four colours options - Cherry Black, Saffire Blue, Tosca Red and Mustard Yellow, is also available in Sapphire Blue and Ebony Black, Passion Red and Ebony Black, and Metallic White and Ebony Black.
The company is also expected to launch the 375 Pulsar next year. According to reports, the 375 Pulsar will pack a four-stroke, single-cylinder powertrain that produces a power of 41.5 bhp and a torque of 32 Nm. The bike is likely to be mated with a six-speed manual transmission system and is rumoured to boast of an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
