A prototype of Bajaj's upcoming Pulsar 150AS has been caught on camera undergoing testing ahead of its possible launch in the country.
Bajaj has been testing this smaller version of its Pulsar 200AS on the roads for quite a while; now, this latest batch of spy shots would probably be the first look at the almost-production-ready bodywork of the model. Snapped by Motoroids readers Chetan Manjrekar, Gi Ree Sh, Tushar Phadke, and Swapnil Masavkar, in Pune, the images paint a clear picture of Baja Pulsar 150 AS.
While the test mule was heavily camouflaged, Pulsar 150AS appears to be carrying a projector headlights and large windscreen. Power is likely to come from 150cc engine with CV carburettor that can churn out 17 PS of power at 9000 rpm and 13 Nm of torque. Transmission is likely to be taken care of by a 5-speed gearbox. The model is expected to get telescopic forks at the front, and a monoshock at the rear. As we reported earlier, the big difference is that the new Pulsar 150 AS is built around perimeter frame.
Bajaj Pulsar 150AS, a lower displacement Adventure Sport model, is expected to make its debut in India in the next couple of weeks. An earlier report had said that the Pune-based bike maker will be launching a 150 Pulsar model in April.
It was not clear which of the Pulsar 150s that have been spied testing on the roads will be first out of the block.
Bajaj's Pulsar 150NS is also in its testing phase in the country. Pulsar 150NS will be powered by 149.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that can pump out a power of 16.3bhp of power at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 13Nm at 7,500rpm.
