A lot has already been written about Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS, the younger sibling of Pulsar 200 NS. The model has been linked to different launch dates since its prototypes started appearing on Indian roads for test rounds. Emerging reports now claim that the motorcycle is scheduled for launch after the launch of Bajaj VS400. This means that Pulsar 150 NS will hit the Indian market in early 2017.
The motorcycle is expected to use the new 149.5cc twin-spark, four-valve air-cooled engine debuted with Pulsar 150 AS which makes 16.7bhp power at 9500rpm and a maximum torque of 13Nm at 7500rpm.
The numbers are healthy power figures in the 150cc segment. To put it in perspective, the 16.7bhp is second only to the 18.2bhp CBR150R and equal to the Yamaha R15's power figure. In terms of smoothness, this engine is much more advanced than the current engine in the regular Pulsar 150.
Pulsar 150 NS will be the second naked bike from Bajaj Auto, the first being the Pulsar 200 NS. In terms of looks, both the motorcycles will be identical. Pulsar 150NS is expected to cost around Rs 85,000 and it will go up against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet in India.
The Pune-based manufacturer started exports of Pulsar 150 NS earlier this year. Pulsar 150 NS has been exported to Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Turkey, Finland, Thailand and the United States. The motorcycle is exported as completely knocked down (CKD) and semi-knocked down (SKD), depending upon the assembly facility in the destination countries.
