Bajaj Auto's most anticipated motorcycle the Kratos VS400 is ready for launch. There were reports that the company had pushed launch to December. Emerging reports indicates there is no delay in plan and the flagship motorcycle of the Pune-based manufacturer will enter market this month itself.
Citing Bajaj dealers in Mumbai, India.com confirms Kratos VS400's launch in November. The company has reportedly commenced dealer dispatches already and the deliveries are expected to start from December. Bajaj Auto will soon start accepting bookings for the motorcycle.
Bajaj Auto showcased Pulsar CS400 concept, the precursor of the Kratos VS400 at Auto Expo 2014. The company took over two years to fine tune the production-spec version. The motorcycle has been snapped countless times during its testing on public roads and most recently at the TVC shoot. Pictures indicate there is no major detour from the concept form in terms of styling. Final-spec will sport twin instrument console — one on the handlebar as seen in other bikes and the other on the fuel tank -- and the upside down front forks of the concept will make way for conventional telescopic front suspension.
The Kratos VS400 is Bajaj Auto's take on cruiser sport segment that sits above company's Avenger range. The new motorcycle will lock horn against the Royal Enfield range of motorcycles. The Kratos VS400 is expected to be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark, fuel-injected mill mated to six-speed transmission. The engine is expected to pump in a power of 40bhp and 30Nm of peak torque. The Kratos VS400 is also rumoured to get a base variant with 34bhp of power.
The motorcycle will come with ABS. However, it remains to be seen if the ABS will be offered as standard or optional. Bajaj is expected to price the Kratos VS400 starting at Rs 1.7 lakh.
