It looks like after months of speculations and rumours, finally the biking enthusiasts will see the much-awaited Kratos VS400 in December. The emerging reports on the web suggest that the Kratos VS400, which is popularly known by its concept name the Pulsar CS400, is set for its launch in the country in December.
The Kratos VS400, the power cruiser from the Pune-based two-wheeler maker has been linked with several launch dates since its appearance at the Auto Expo 2014. The flagship model of Bajaj has also become a common sighting on the Indian roads as the company was continuously putting it through testing. While it was rumoured earlier that the new power cruiser of Bajaj would carry the Pulsar VS400 moinker, a recent set of spy shots have confirmed the name as Kratos VS400, in which VS stand for Vantage Sports.
For the uninitiated, the Kratos VS400 is expected to be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark, fuel-injected mill mated to six-speed transmission. The engine is expected to pump in a power of 40bhp and 30Nm of peak torque. The Kratos VS400 is also rumoured to get a base variant with 34bhp of power.
The Kratos VS400 will come with ABS. However, it remains to be seen if the ABS will be offered as standard or optional. Bajaj is expected to price the Kratos VS400 starting at Rs 1.7 lakh and the company is likely to introduce it as a new sub-brand. With the new launch, Bajaj will look to take on the likes of Royal Enfield.
Besides the Kratos 400, Bajaj is also gearing up to roll out the updated Pulsar range which will include new pulsar 150, 180 and 220.
