Bajaj Auto has put up a microsite for its upcoming power cruiser the Dominar 400, which is slated for its launch in India on December 15. The company has also embarked on a teaser campaign for the Dominar 400, giving biking enthusiasts an early glimpse at the model.
The microsite also invites the interested users to register. The registered users on the site will get an invitation to a live launch webcast and also access to limited edition online brochure of the Dominar 400 on the launch day. Besides this, Bajaj is also promising to offer priority test rides to the registered users and invitation to the city launch. Although Bajaj has not officially announced the bookings of the Dominar 400, reports suggest that some of the dealers of the company have started accepting bookings for a down-payment of Rs 1,000 and above. Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.8 lakh, ex-showroom.
Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to enter the territory of Royal Enfield in India. Bajaj has been working on the Dominar 400 for about three years now and the power cruiser was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 as Pulsar CS400. In its final production-spec version, the Dominar 400 is expected to get a refined 373cc fuel injected, liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark mill, which also does duty in KTM 390 Duke. The engine is expected to come with fuel injection and mated to six-speed transmission. The bike is expected to come with ABS on-board. However, it is yet to be known if the ABS will be offered as standard or optional.
The Dominar 400 is expected to get conventional telescopic front suspension instead of upside down front forks of the Pulsar CS400 concept, twin instrument console — one on the handlebar as seen in other bikes and the other on the fuel tank and LED headlamp unit.
