Bajaj Auto's new cruiser motorcycle series, the Avenger, which consists of three models, has been fetching good sales for the company. The range grown from one model to three models with the update in October 2015 registered sale of 20,182 units in December 2015.
The Avenger cruiser range now consists of Avenger Street 150, Street 220 and Cruise 220, in which the 150cc variants are priced at Rs 75,000 and the 220cc models at Rs 84,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Of the total 20,182 units, Bajaj sold 9,234 units of Avenger Street 150. Rest of the 10,948 units has been divided between Street 220 and Cruise 220. This is a significant growth from the 2,908 units sales in December 2014. The high sales have also helped the Avenger series to crack in to the top ten best selling motorcycle list. The Avenger series has been ranked 10 in the list published by Autocarpro.
Bajaj Auto's other models in the lists are the CT 100 and the Pulsar range, ranked at sixth and seventh, respectively. Bajaj sold 34,480 units of CT 100 and 34, 067units of Pulsar range. The first three places are packed with Hero motorcycles. The Hero Splendor range top the table with sales of 1,84,856 units, followed by Hero HF deluxe with 93,451 units and Hero Passion with 55,765 units. Hero Glamour (48,748 units) is at sixth place while the fifth position has been grabbed by Honda CB Shine (51,047 units).
Royal Enfield's best selling motorcycle Classic 350 is at eighth place with 23,650 units sale followed by TVS Apache series with 20,599 units sale. With the new Apache series just being launched, the TVS motorcycle is expected to move up in the list in coming months.
