Popular two wheeler maker Bajaj Auto has introduced a new colour variant to its Avenger Cruise 220. Dubbed as the Desert Gold Edition, the new colour variant has made its online debut on the website of the company and has been priced at Rs. 85,497 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Launched in October last year, the new Avenger cruiser range of Bajaj includes three models -- Avenger Street 150, Street 220 and Cruise 220. All three were previously available in single colour -- black. Going by the trend, Bajaj is likely to add more colour variants in its Avenger palette.
The new Desert Gold edition of the Avenger is a combination of gold, brown and tan. Other than the colour, no additions or changes have been made to the two-wheeler.
Powering the Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220 is a 220cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled engine that can churn out 19bhp at 8,400rpm and 17.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox. The third in the line-up — Avengers Street 150 — gets an engine that is tuned to generate 13bhp and a peak torque of 12.5Nm.
Other features of the Avenger Cruise 220 include low slung seating, long wheelbase, wide rear tyre and digital meter. Bajaj has been registering increase in sales since the launch of the new Avenger rage. The Avenger, which previously recorded an average sale of 3,000 units per month, is now said to be clocking around 20,000 units a month.
