It looks like details of the third variant of the upcoming Bajaj Avenger edition are finally trickling in. If the latest reports are anything to go by, popular two wheeler maker Bajaj will soon expand its cruiser Avenger family in India with the addition of a new 150cc model.
It was reported recently that Bajaj is readying three new editions of its Avenger motorcycles to increase its market share. Although the first two variants, namely Avenger Street and Avenger 220 Cruise, have confirmed their arrival through spy shots and various leaks, nothing much was heard about the third model.
Now Auto Car professional, who seem to have got interesting tidbit from industry sources, reveal that the third in the line-up will be Avenger 150. Bajaj Avenger 150 is expected to features Pulsar AS150 engine.
Talking about the other two variants in the upcoming Avenger family, both the Avenger Street and Avenger 220 Cruise will come powered by 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine of the current one in the market.
Although there were reports that the Pune-based maker will roll out a new 200cc engine for Avenger, recent spy shots of the new models confirmed that mechanically, the new variants will remain the same. As for styling, while Avenger Street gets new black colour treatment with new black alloys, black engine and a black exhaust, the Avenger Cruise is likely to get new paint job and graphics.
With the launch of new Avenger models, Bajaj is reportedly targeting monthly sales of 8,000 to 9,000 units. Bajaj Avenger's current monthly sales stands at an average of 3,600 units. The new Avenger models are expected to reach the showrooms by November this year and the bookings are likely to begin around the same time.
