Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are set to recreate their magical chemistry in "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" and they wrapped up the first schedule recently. As the film is being referred to as the sequel of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania," Alia Bhatt revealed that it is not a sequel.
In a recent interview, Alia said that "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" is not a continuation of the first part, but it is a franchise. "The film is not a sequel, it's not a continuation. It's a franchise. It's a different story, it has another person and dulhania with a common thread that's a love story," Alia told the Press Trust of India.
The film went on floors on May 3 and it is being directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The first schedule of the film has been shot in Mumbai and the team will also reportedly shoot in Kota and Jhansi.
The first schedule has recently been wrapped up as Varun shared a picture with the team on social media. It is said the actors will be presented in a different avatar, and they will speak in a North Indian accent. The film will be a fresh story set against a rural backdrop up North.
The announcement of the film was made with an interesting motion poster. Also, Alia and Varun showed their excitement with their tweets. "I hear the 1st ever love franchise is in the air! @dharmamovies @karanjohar @aliaa08 is that for real?? [sic]" Varun had tweeted. Alia replied: "The "dulhania" is on the move!! Is this true though?? [sic]"
In fact, in the recent interview of Alia with PTI, she talked about getting back together with the team of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania." "It's great to be back with the whole team. There's not only Varun but also our director Shashank, the director of photography is the same, the sound designer is the same... It's like working with family," she told PTI.
