Recently, the tourism department of the state in collaboration with Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage set up a website -'www.touristvillage.com' - to promote rural tourism. The Government has started many schemes for Gujjars and Bakkerawals but they exist only on paper. The boy’s high school Choora in Baramulla district was upgraded in 2012 under the centrally sponsored scheme (RAMSA).
