JoJo Fletcher was faking her feelings for "The Bachelor" Season 20 star Ben Higgins so as to stay in the limelight, believes her ex-boyfriend Chad Rookstool, who said Fletcher even confessed that her feelings weren't genuine.
"JoJo told me, 'Chad, come on, you know it was TV,'" Rookstool told In Touch, according to Reality TV World. "I think she just got sucked up in the show rather than actually trying to have legit feelings."
Fans of the show are sure to be surprised with these revelations, as Fletcher appeared to have very strong feelings for Higgins. On more than one occasion, she even appeared devastated at the prospect of Higgins choosing another contestant as his partner.
Opening up to In Touch magazine about Fletcher, who is the star of Season 12 of "The Bachelorette," Rookstool said she had second thoughts about participating on the ABC dating reality show.
"She told me there were many nights she'd cry thinking about me and our dog and question whether she made the right decision by being there," the 38-year-old Dallas salon owner revealed, adding that she rushed back to him shortly after filming for "The Bachelor" wound up.
Reportedly, they started hanging out soon after and even became intimate. But they had to sneak around and keep their relationship a secret as "The Bachelor" was still on air and she wasn't allowed to be seen with another suitor. "She kept telling me she loved me and that we should have stayed together," Rookstool added.
