'Baby' 16-Day Collection at Box Office: Akshay Kumar Starrer Won't Cross ₹100-crore in 3 Weeks

Akshay Kumar starrer "Baby" could collect only ₹1.56 crore nett at the box office in India on its 16^th day (third Saturday). At this rate, the film may not be able to cross the ₹100-crore mark in its third week.

"Baby" opened to decent response, with its first day collection reaching ₹9.3 crore nett in the domestic market. The movie showed decent growth in the next few days, to collect ₹63.82 crore nett in its opening week.

The Niraj Pandey-directed film clashed with new releases "Khamoshiyan", "Hawaizaada" and "Rahasya". When compared to its opening day collection, "Baby" witnessed more than 70% drop on its second Friday.

With business improving again in the following days, the film collected ₹20.58 crore nett in its second week, taking the 14-day domestic total collection to ₹84.40 crore nett.

On its third Friday, "Baby" clashed with big-ticket release "Shamitabh", which pulled its business down. The Akshay Kumar starrer collected ₹1.31 crore nett at the Indian box office on its 15^th day. The movie showed decent growth on its third Saturday,  with business reaching ₹1.56 crore nett. The 16-day domestic box office collection stands at ₹87.27 crore nett.

As per early trends, "Baby", which has remained rock-steady, is expected to gross ₹2 crore at the box office in India on Sunday. The collection could drop again on Monday, with expectations of ₹2.5 to ₹3.5 crore in collection during weekdays. The total collection is estimated at ₹8.5 crore nett at the box office in India in its third week.

Trade experts had predicted that "Baby" would enter the ₹100-crore club in three weeks. But looking at the current trend, the film would end up collecting approximately ₹93 crore nett at the box office in India in three weeks. With couple of big-ticket films hitting the screens on 13 February, "Baby" may not be able to cross the ₹100-crore mark in its fourth week also.
