Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif's "Baar Baar Dekho," which opened to an average response, witnessed a growth in its collection on the second day. The film raked in a good amount at the Indian box office on day two.
"Baar Baar Dekho" collected Rs. 7.65 crore at the Indian box office on Saturday, taking its two-day domestic collection to Rs. 14.61 crore nett. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#BaarBaarDekho witnessed limited growth [12.33%] on Sat... A double digit figure on Sat would've definitely helped take the total higher... #BaarBaarDekho Fri 6.81 cr, Sat 7.65 cr. Total: ₹ 14.46 cr. India biz."
Made on a budget of Rs. 50 crore, "Baar Baar Dekho" has already recovered half of its total cost through satellite and music rights, which were sold for Rs. 26 crore. However, considering the pace at which the film is running, it is expected to take a couple of days to start making profit.
Nevertheless, "Baar Baar Dekho" has the potential to collect a good amount over the long weekend despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and audience.
Although the romantic drama film directed by Nitya Mehra clashed at the box office with Nawazuddin Siddiqui's "Freaky Ali," it is expected to enjoy a good run for the next couple of days. The sizzling chemistry between the good-looking actors, Sidharth and Katrina, may also work in drawing audience to theatres.
The chartbuster song "Kala Chashma," which has turned out to be one of the most popular foot-tapping party numbers in recent times, may also work in the film's favour.
Further, since last week's release "Akira" has slowed down at the box office, movie-goers may opt for "Baar Baar Dekho" instead of the Sonakshi Singh-starrer. The positive word-of-mouth may also help the film draw audience to theatres.
