S S Rajamouli's "Baahubali - the Beginning" is undeterred by Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" as it has continued to do good collection at the Indian box office on its second Friday and Saturday.
The Hindi version of "Baahubali", which was released in a large number of cinema halls across the country, has collected Rs 4.25 crore nett on the ninth day, taking its total to Rs 54.27 crore .
It had collected Rs 46.77 crore in the first week of the release, which is the highest collection ever for a dubbed movie. Many in B-Town were surprised with the record performance of "Baahubali" at the box office in its opening week.
Trade experts had predicted that "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will snatch some of the screens from "Baahubali" and affect its collection by becoming the first choice for Hindi audience. The business of the Rajamouli-directed film did drop on its second Friday, but not as feared.
When compared to its opening day collection, the Hindi version of "Baahubali" witnessed around 36 per cent drop in its business on its second Friday. Having become the first choice for many movie buffs, the movie ran to packed houses and collected Rs 3.25 crore at the Indian box office on the eighth day. It has crossed the mark of Rs 50 crore nett in the domestic market.
The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer has shown further jump on its second Sunday. As per early trends, the movie is expected to collect approximately Rs 6 crore at the Indian box office. It is expected to collect around Rs 30 crore in the domestic market in the second week and cross the mark of Rs 74 crore in 14 days.
