Salman Khan, considered the 'Sultan' of the box office, has often set new benchmarks at the box office. In spite of his movies breaking records, the actor was never excited to talk about the business part of his movies. But now, his stand appears to be changing following the massive success of the Baahubali series.
The Dabangg actor has spoken in length about the box office numbers. Speaking to DNA, he said, "I will tell you why numbers have become such a big thing. The most amazing thing about Baahubali's success is that the Hindi audiences are so accepting. They have made a Telugu film so large, even though they do not know south heroes apart from three or four of them."
Salman Khan says that Hindi movies do not have such a reach in South India as the audiences are loyal to their stars. "If there is a Kamal Haasan fan, then he will be a Kamal fan forever; Rajinikanth fan will be a Rajinikanth fan for life," he added.
The Bollywood star also feels that fan clubs in the South voluntarily fight against piracy if their star's films are affected, which is not the same in Bollywood. He also had good words to say about Hindi film audiences, who welcome movies featuring all languages and stars.
However, Salman Khan, in an interview recently, had claimed that his latest movie Tubelight was unlikely to beat the record of Baahubali 2. "I doubt that Tubelight will break Baahubali 2's record, because the latter is one of the most freakish films that has been made," Firstpost quoted the actor as saying.
Coming to the massive success of Baahubali 2, the movie, which was released in four languages, has logged returns of over Rs 1,650 crore at the worldwide box office. The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer is getting ready to hit the screens in China. If it opens to positive reviews, the SS Rajamouli creation is expected to breach the Rs 2,000-crore mark.
