The stupendous success of Baahubali 2 is leading many filmmakers to make movies on a grand scale and on par with the SS Rajamouli's film. The latest celebrity who is apparently planning on a big budget project is Riteish Deshmukh.
The actor is said to be investing a whopping Rs 225 crore in making a film on the life of great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who is infamous for his controversial tweets, was the first one to reveal the news on Twitter.
This is how Ram Gopal Varma-Kamaal R Khan gave publicity for Baahubali 2 – free of cost
In a series of tweets, the Sarkar 3 director praised Riteish for taking up the subject, which is the pride of Maharashtra, for the wider audience. Surprisingly, the filmmaker, who had been talking highly about Rajamouli and the film Baahubali, now believes that the Baahubali franchise didn't have much drama and heroism. He feels Rajamouli's film is not real, whereas the one on Chhatrapati Shivaji will capture the real heroic actions of the warrior.
While no official confirmation has been made by Riteish regarding the same, reports have been doing the rounds that the Bank Chor actor will be essaying the role of Shivaji in the biopic being made in Marathi.
Also, Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad recently revealed that he is interested in scripting a film on the Maratha king Shivaji. "I love his heroism," he told DNA.
It now remains to be seen if there is any truth to RGV's tweets. Here are his posts on Twitter:
