The producers of SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginnning" (Bahubali) have announced the release date for its Chinese version, which is scheduled to hit a large number of screens across China on July 22.
"Baahubali: The Beginnning" was initially slated to release in the country in October 2015, but it was delayed due to unknown reasons. The Chinese audience are eagerly waiting for its release. Today, the makers have announced the date official Twitter handle of "Baahubali." They tweeted, "Here's some big news! #Baahubali - The Beginning is making its way to screens in China on the 22nd of July!!"
It is wel-known that E Stars, which has earlier released many Indian films, including "PK," in China, has acquired the distribution rights of "Baahubali: The Beginnning." The distribution house is reportedly releasing the film in the country on revenue sharing basis and has planned to screen the movie in 6,000 cinema halls, which is said to be the highest screen for an Indian film to release in the country.
Shobu Yarlagadda, who has jointly bankrolled "Baahubali" with Prasad Devineni, took to his Twitter page today to wish the success for its Chinese distributor. The producer tweeted, "It's been a long road to China! Fingers crossed! Wishing the very best to our Chinese distributor E Stars!"
The makers of "Baahubali" have reportedly cut short the Chinese version of the film by 20 minutes to suite the taste of the local audience. As part of its promotion, producers had an interaction with the reporters from Chinese leading media houses. Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, director SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty were present at the occasion.
Several Indian movies, including Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" and "PK," Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" and "Happy New Year" were released in the country in the past. Some of them have become biggest money spinners at the Chinese box office. It should be seen whether "Baahubali" will be able to shatter any of those records or not.
