SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali - the Beginning" (Bahubali) has concluded its first week with record-breaking collection at the worldwide box office and its seven-day gross business stands at Rs 255 crore.
Baahubali - the Beginning" has been creating waves in the media ever since it was announced. Its promos had also generated a huge amount of curiosity among the audience across the globe. Its release was postponed several times due to various reasons, but its delay resulted in enhancing the craze for the film.

After witnessing the buzz around the film, the makers made massive plans for the release of "Baahubali - the Beginning". Besides showing it on 4,200 screens, they also made sure that the advance booking was available a week before the movie's release. The flick registered very good amount of booking for the first weekend.
The makers held paid premieres in the US, where it set a new record by crossing $1 million. They also arranged benefit shows in many centres in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other parts of Indian in the wee hours of its opening day. The tickets for these shows were sold at very high price, which is said to be a record in the Indian cinema.
"Baahubali - the Beginning" opened to an earth-shattering response everywhere and grossed approximately Rs 75 crore (Rs 62 crore nett) at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie did well on Saturday and Sunday and became the first South Indian film to cross the mark of Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend.
On Monday, the Prabhas, Rana, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty starrer witnessed a drop in its business due to reduced ticket prices, but its collection was bigger than many big-ticket Indian releases. The film did well on the following weekdays by running to packed houses in many centres across the globe. The film has shattered the lifetime records of all blockbuster Tollywood movies.
Released in four languages (Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam), "Baahubali - the Beginning" has collected approximately Rs 255 crore (US$40 million) at the worldwide box office in the first week. Its seven day nett collection stands at Rs 185.69 crore. The movie has become the highest grosser Indian movie in the first week, while Aamir Khan's "PK" topped the chart.
"Baahubali Part 1 and 2" have been made with the whopping budget of Rs 250 crore and it the distribution rights of its Part 1 - "Baahubali - the Beginning" were sold for a record price of around Rs 140 crore. The movie has brought a smile on the faces of its distributors by fetching them a huge share of Rs 145 crore in just seven days.
