"Baahubali" actress Anushka Shetty, who was recently seen in "Size Zero", has been approached for director Krishna Vamsi's film "Rudraaksh", which will be produced by Dil Raju.
"Rudraaksh" is a woman-centric film on a socio-fantasy that reportedly revolves around a battle between evil and good. The film is being made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Krishna Vamsi, who has penned the story for the film, is currently on the lookout for a suitable actress for the flick.
It was rumoured earlier that the makers of "Rudraaksh" were in talks with actress Nayantara for the lead role. But latest buzz is they have approached Anushka Shetty. She is reportedly impressed with the story and wants to be part of the film. But she needs to adjust her dates for it as she currently has two other projects on her hands: "Baahubali 2" and "Singam 3".
"They narrated the story to Anushka and she liked it. More than the story, Anushka wants to act in a Krishna Vamsi film and it all depends on her dates. The actress is busy with a couple of other projects like 'Baahubali 2' and 'Singam 3', so this project is still in discussion. She has not yet signed the contract," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.
Anushka Shetty is shooting for "Singam 3", but its Vizag schedule has been postponed due to the floods in Chennai. After wrapping it up, she is expected to join the team of director SS Rajamouli for the shooting of "Baahubali: The Conclusion". If she works out her dates, "Rudraaksh" will be another landmark film in her career after "Arundhati", "Baahubali: The Beginning" and "Rudramadevi".
However, it was reported earlier that Sarath Kumar, Shriya Saran and Upendra were roped in to play important roles in "Rudraaksh". AR Rahman's nephew GV Prakash will reportedly compose the music, while RD Rajasekhar will handle the cinematography. The director is also looking for fresh faces as the script needs five young actors.
