The rumours of Baahubali 3 have excited the fans of the franchise. Although SS Rajamouli had earlier claimed that he does not have any plan to make a third instalment, the latest buzz indicated that the massive success of Baahubali 2 has inspired the makers to reconsider their earlier stand.
Speculations are rife that the next instalment will not revolve around the main characters, rather it will primarily focus on the untold stories of Mahishmati kingdom. It is expected to be a prequel rather than a sequel, cites a report. "Kattapa-Shiva relationship develop, Bhalla's wife/other sons, Shiva living up to his father's name..etc. [sic]" a fan named Loulwa tweeted about the possible ideas to take the franchise forward.
As per Bollywood Hungama, SS Rajamouli and producer Shobu Yarlagadda had a closed door meeting about the possible third instalment recently. Writer KV Vijayendra Prasad has been told to come up with ideas to take the franchise forward. "Other writers may also be brought on board to put forward ideas. A think tank is being created on the lines of the slew of screenwriters who work on Hollywood franchises like Mission Impossible and King Arthur. But yes, Baahubali 3 is now officially under consideration," a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Another source has told the website that SS Rajamouli cannot be tempted to do the sequel merely by offering hefty pay cheque, but he shares a good relationship with Karan Johar and Shobu Yarlagadda which might make him consider the third instalment.
It may be recalled that SS Rajamouli had earlier stated he had no plans to make Baahubali 3, but it might come up in the form of animation series, comic books, virtual reality shows etc.
The first instalment of Baahubali had grossed over Rs. 600 crore, while the second had collected over Rs. 1,300 crore worldwide.
