Prabhas and Rana Daggubatti's Baahubali 2 has completed its two-week run in theatres on a high note. The multilingual movie has broken all the major records at the worldwide box office and is now heading towards reaching the Rs 1,300 crore mark this weekend.
The movie has collected approximately Rs 1,220 crore at the worldwide box office in 14 days. In its home territory of Andhra and Telangana states, SS Rajamouli's creation has minted Rs 232.9 crore with a net income of Rs 211.2 crore. The distributors' share stands at Rs 160.12 crore as per trade tracker Andhra Box Office.
In Karnataka, Baahubali 2 has earned over Rs 85 crore, while in Tamil Nadu it has raked in Rs 97 crore. The movie has earned over Rs 50 crore in Kerala, taking the total South India tally to over Rs 471 crore.
The biggest contribution has come from the rest of India where Baahubali 2 has earned close to Rs 550 crore. In India alone, the film has grossed over Rs 1,021 crore. The movie, which has Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia as the female leads, has collected close to Rs 200 crore from the overseas centres.
Baahubali 2 has become the biggest blockbuster movie of India. Except for Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the Shobu Yarlagadda-produced film has become the highest-grossing movie in every state of the country.
Trade experts are predicting that Baahubali 2 will breach the Rs 1,300 crore mark in its third weekend, and the industry is curiously looking forward to see whether the film reaches the Rs 1,500 crore mark at the global box office.
Meanwhile, the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 is set to collect Rs 400 crore (net) on Saturday, May 13, which is a feat that no Hindi movie has been able to reach till date.
