SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 (Bahubali 2) had created several box office records both in domestic as well as overseas market. Seeing its splendid performance, Salman Khan thinks Tubelight will not be able to break its records.
Salman's movie Tubelight is slated to be released on Eid, which has always been a favourable time for his flicks. However, the superstar does not think the movie will break Baahubali 2's box office collection records.
"I doubt it is going to break the record," Filmfare quoted Salman as saying when asked if he thinks Tubelight can overtake Baahubali 2 at the box office. The superstar also has a good reason to back his statement.
"Because Baahubali is like one of a freakish film that has happened and the Hindi film goers have been like super, they did not care if it was a dubbed film, they did not care that it was a Tamil, Telugu film, a South Indian film, they went to see because they loved the first one. So they lapped the movie on and because of the Hindi cinema goers that film has got this numbers. Hats off to our guys who have gone and seen the film and made it such a big hit," Salman added.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight features Salman as an innocent guy who struggles to bring back his soldier brother from the clutches of enemy. It also has Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. After the success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan, fans are eagerly waiting for Tubelight.
On the other side, Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2 is still running strong at many theatres. After crossing Rs. 1,500 crore at the worldwide box office, the makers of the magnum opus will soon release the movie in China that will further add to the collection.
