Aamir Khan's Dangal collection is giving a tough competition to Baahubali 2 (Bahubali 2) earnings as both the films have crossed Rs. 1,500 crore mark worldwide. Dangal achieved the mark after it got released in China and now, the makers of Baahubali 2 are planning to release the magnum opus in the dragon country.
Baahubali 2 and Dangal have continued to do well at the worldwide box office, and their total global collections are likely to reach Rs. 2,500 crore and Rs. 1,700 crore, respectively.
Speaking about Baahubali 2's release plans in China, Francois da Silva, who presides over international sales for Arka Mediaworks (Baahubali producers), told Variety: "With Baahubali 2: The Conclusion we are now at $220 million worldwide, without China. Our target now is for China to give us the biggest lifetime score of all time for an Indian movie."
This means there's no full stop for the box office collection of Baahubali 2. SS Rajamouli and team had released Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015 in China but the film then grossed only $7 million (around Rs. 45 crore).
Now, the second instalment has done a tremendous business worldwide and in fact, fans of Baahubali in China are waiting for the movie to get released in their country.
Recently, one of the producers of Baahubali, Shobu Yarlagadda, tweeted about the success of Dangal and Baahubali. Fans requested him to bring the magnum opus in China.
Two movies have done back to back business of 1500 crores WW opening up new markets! This hopefully augurs well for our industry!

Baahubali 2 success has actually raised the bar for Indian cinema. And there are possibilities that from now on movies will be made with a target to surpass Prabhas' film's record. Aamir Khan is already planning to do so with his upcoming movie, Thugs of Hindostan.
