SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is drawing movie lovers in hordes to theatres across the globe. Back home, movie lovers must be at the peak of their happiness as the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer has already grossed Rs 1,000 crore at the worldwide box-office within just over a week of release.
That is a record in itself, but that is not the reason we in the auto industry are engrossed with its making. As Baahubali and the characters of Amarendra Baahubali, Bhallaladeva, Devasena, Rajmata Sivagami, Avanthika, Kattappa and others continue to hog the limelight, there is something in the movie that even ardent auto enthusiasts in their excitement might have glossed over. Any guesses? Nay! But wait before you dismiss the thought. Yes, it is the chariot!
And this will even bring more cheers to Royal Enfield's fan following. The machine used by Bhallaladeva, a character reprised by Rana Daggubati, draws its power from a Royal Enfield engine.
In an interview, Baahubali's production designer Sabu Cyril has revealed that Bhallaladeva's chariot was built using a Royal Enfield engine. Bhallaladeva's weaponised chariot with revolving blades at the front is part of both the Baahubali films.
Apparently, the chariot also had a typical car steering and a driver. However, we do not know which of the engines of the Royal Enfield was used to power the antagonist's vehicle. Now, that is something, isn't it? We thought you should know!
