Prabhas' Baahubali 2 (Bahubali: The Conclusion) has opened to humongous response and the movie's collection is expected to cross Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office on the first day.
The highly-awaited multi-lingual movie was released in four languages inluding Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. The movie was premiered in over 3,500 screens in India, North America, UK, UAE, Australia and other markets on Thursday and got superb response everywhere. The film is estimated to have collected over Rs 50 crore gross at the worldwide box office in paid previews.
The SS Rajamouli-directed movie was released in over 6,700 screens in 4,800 locations in India and 2,360 screens in 1,234 centres in the overseas market. Before its release, Baahubali 2 witnessed brilliant advance booking in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu for the opening day, while the theatres in other parts of the world had registered an average of 65 percent booking.
The screening of Baahubali 2 started in the wee hours of Friday in several centres across India except Tamil Nadu, where the shows were cancelled due to some financial issues. The movie registered 100 percent occupancy in both multiplexes and single screens almost everywhere for the early morning shows.
Much before the first regular show began, many theatres displayed "all ticket sold for the day, board, which came as a big disappointment for many Baahubali fans, who did not get ticket. The regular morning and matinee shows were housefull in almost all the areas across the domestic market. The word of mouth is expected to take its business upwards in evening shows.
As per early trends, the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer is expected to collect Rs 60 crore in AP/T, Rs 70 crore in other parts of India and Rs 30 crore in the international markets. Baahubali 2 is set to collect Rs 200 crore gross (including Rs 50 crore from premieres) at the worldwide box office on its opening day. It will be the biggest opener for an Indian movie till date.
