SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion (Bahubali 2) has grossed $8 million mark at the North American box office and smashed the lifetime collection record of Baahubali: The Beginning in just two days.
Baahubali 2, which had generated a huge hype and expectations, was released in nearly 1,100 screens to cater to massive demand in North America on April 28. The movie was also premiered in many screens on April 27. Having record advance booking, the film registered phenomenal response everywhere in both premiere shows and regular screening on its opening day.
Baahubali 2 collected $4.66 million (Rs 30 crore gross) at the North America box office in the premiere and on Friday. It is the highest record for any Indian film and it is impossible to break it in near future. Great India Films, which has distributed the film, tweeted: "#Baahubali2 America ALL- Day-1 (Premiere + Friday): $4517K and another $150K (approx) from private screens Total $4.667million (INR 30crs+)"
The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer garnered positive feedback from the viewers and the word of mouth multiplied its numbers on Saturday, April 29. As per early estimates, Baahubali 2 has collected $ 3 million at the North America box office on its 2nd day. Great India Films tweeted: "#Baahubali2 Hourly Grosses $3mil+, First ever Indian movie to cross $3mil+ in a Single Day, Still counting, Thanks to Baahubali Fans."
Baahubali: The Beginning collected around $8 million at the North America in its lifetime and Baahubali 2 has shattered this record in just two days. Great India Films has reportedly acquired the theatrical rights for Baahubali 2 for a whopping price of Rs 44 crore. The movie is estimated to have fetched Rs 33.35 crore for the distributors in two days and recovered over 75 percent of their investment.
