SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 enjoyed good viewership during its fifth weekend in Tamil Nadu. The turnout of family audience was good on Saturday and Sunday.
New releases like Brindavanam and Thodan did not stop the good run of Baahubali 2 in theatres in Tamil Nadu. The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati's film has added close to Rs. 4 crore during the weekend and in Chennai alone, it collected close to Rs. 50 lakh. The flick has done well in other parts of the state and not just in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
The total gross collection of Baahubali 2 stands at Rs. 128.4 crore with a net income of Rs. 107.2 crore in 31 days. As the movie has failed to get 'U' certificate, it couldn't get the 30 percent entertainment exemption in Tamil Nadu. The distributors' share stands at Rs. 69.7 crore.
Baahubali 2 has now become the biggest hit of all time in Tamil Nadu. It has surpassed the business of Rajinikanth's Enthiran, which had minted over Rs. 106 crore in 2010.
Released in over 400 screens in Tamil Nadu, Baahubali 2 had opened to a good start at the Tamil Nadu box office. It had collected Rs. 10.25 crore on the first day. The business of the movie was affected on opening day as the early morning shows were cancelled due to financial issues between the distributor and the producer.
Once the movie, which has Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in the female leads, cleared the first hurdle, there was no looking back as Baahubali 2 ended up doing stunning business. The solid content backed by brilliant performance and VFXs won the hearts of the Tamil audience.
