Prabhas and Rana Daggubati's Baahubali 2, which is on a record-breaking spree, has ruled the Chennai box office in its second weekend as well. With no big regional movies competing for screens, the SS Rajamouli's creation remained undisputed king at the collection centres in the Tamil Nadu capital.
As per Behindwoods, Baahubali 2 minted Rs. 2.73 crore from 777 shows in its second weekend to take its 10-day collection to Rs. 9.06 crore. The film had raked in Rs. 3.24 crore in its opening weekend. The movie is declared a blockbuster and it is expected to surpass all the Chennai records soon.
Hollywood film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in the second place in Chennai. In the opening weekend, the movie has raked in Rs. 12.09 lakh from 60 shows. The trade experts are of the opinion that the flick could have made a better collection if Baahubali 2 did not dominate the Chennai screens.
Malayalam movie Comrade in America, too, had a release in limited screens. In its first weekend, Dulquer Salmaan-starrer collected Rs. 3.48 lakh from 12 shows. The success of the movie depends on the availability of screens for this film.
Dhanush-directorial Pa Paandi entered fourth weekend in Chennai and collected Rs. 2.72 lakh from 24 shows to take its total tally to Rs. 1.80 crore.
