SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 continues to dominate the worldwide box office. In 11 days, the movie has minted over Rs. 1,160 crore. The unprecedented dream run of Bahubali 2 has helped the movie set a new landmark in the Indian film history.
The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer has broken endless records across the regional industries in India. In fact, the trade experts are of the opinion that the benchmark set by SS Rajamouli's creation cannot be broken easily and there is no movie in the sight that will shatter the records set by this magnum opus.
Yet there are a couple of records that Baahubali 2 has failed to beat. Below, we bring you the list of records that the movie failed to beat in Tamil.
TN Opening
SS Rajamouli failed short of beating the first-day record of Rajinikanth's Kabali, which minted Rs. 21.5 crore in Tamil Nadu. The Prabhas-starrer could only collect Rs. 10.25 crore on the opening day. The movie could have easily collected a few crores more if the first-day shows were not cancelled due to the financial issues between the distributor and the producer.
1st Weekend in Chennai
Baahubali 2 could not surpass the first weekend Chennai collection of Kabali. While SS Rajamouli's film raked in Rs. 3.24 crore in three days, the Rajinikanth-starrer collected Rs. 3.80 crore.
UK-Ireland Opening Weekend Record
In the UK and Ireland box office, the Tamil and Telugu versions of Kabali had collected Rs. 2.47 crore, while the combined two-language collection of Baahubali 2 stands at Rs. 1.51 crore.
