SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 is showing no signs of slowing down at the Tamil Nadu box office. The movie even on its sixth day (Wednesday) enjoyed over 60 percent occupancy in theatres leading the film to do a fabulous collection.
Baahubali 2 has crossed the Rs. 50-crore mark in Tamil Nadu. In six days, the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer has minted over Rs. 56 crore with an estimated distributors' share of Rs. 30 crore. The movie is the second highest-grosser in Tamil after Vijay's Bairavaa, which made a lifetime collection of Rs. 61 crore in the state.
After minting Rs. 33 crore in the first weekend, Baahubali 2 retained good viewership on Monday due to the holiday on International Labour Day. In the next two days, the occupancy rates witnessed a normal dip, yet business remained solid for the evening shows.
However, Baahubali 2 should continue its dream run for the next few weeks in order to be a profitable venture for the Tamil Nadu distributor Sri Green Productions, which acquired the rights for Rs. 47 crore.
The film is riding high due to the unanimous positive reviews. Baahubali 2 has not only set the box office on fire in Tamil Nadu, but across the country. In fact, the movie has done an earth-shattering business in a couple of overseas centres including in the US.
On the other hand, Baahubali 2 is cruising towards Rs.1000-crore mark. The film has made over Rs. 750 crore in six days.
SS Rajamouli's latest movie is the second and concluding part in the Baahubali series. Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia are in the female leads in the flick, which has Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan in the key important roles.
