Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer "Baahubali" has created history in Tamil Nadu by doing a record business in 10 days. The multilingual movie has grossed Rs.35 crore in 10 days with a net amount of Rs.27 crore. This is an earth-shattering business for a movie, which basically has non-Tamil actors in the lead roles.
The last movie that had done wonders in Tamil Nadu was "Naan Ee" ("Eega" in Telugu), which was again a creation of S S Rajamouli.
"Naan Ee" had approximately netted Rs.18 crore. In Chennai alone, "Baahubali" raked in Rs.3.84 crore. The flick had garnered Rs.16 crore (gross) in the three-day non-holiday weekend.
Not just in Tamil, the film has done record business in all the languages it was released.
The Hindi dubbed version of "Baahubali" has earned Rs.60+ crore and the Malayalam version also did good business. The worldwide gross collection of the film by the end of second week stands at Rs.355 crore.
Tamil film tracker and trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai has posted a series of tweets on the hit movie.
