Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer romantic action drama "Baaghi" has taken a good start at the overseas box office. "Baaghi" shattered the opening day box office collection records of three movies at the UAE-GCC box office.
The Shabbir Khan's directorial minted Rs. 1.54 crore ($ 232,000) on Thursday at the UAE-GCC box office. The first day business of "Baaghi" from the Gulf region is better than Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor's "2 States," Shraddha and Varun Dhawan-starrer "ABCD 2" and Tiger-Kriti Sanon starrer "Heropanti." In fact, the opening day collection of "Baaghi" is three times bigger than Tiger's first film "Heropanti."
"#Baaghi opens SPECTACULAR in UAE-GCC. Collects $ 232,000 [₹ 1.54 cr] on Thu. Bigger than #2States, #ABCD2 and 3 times that of #Heropanti," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The romantic action drama has opened to good response at the domestic box office as well. The opening day occupancy of the film is good at both single screens and multiplexes in India and is looking to record one of the highest first-day earnings of this year.
Despite releasing in just 2,750 screens in India and 344 screens internationally, the film recorded good occupancy. Trade experts believe that the opening day box office collection of "Baaghi" will be among the top five this year.
"#Baaghi releases in a total of 2750 screens in India and 344 screens in the overseas markets," trade analyst Adarsh added.
Directed by Shabbir, "Baaghi" features Tiger and Shraddha in the lead roles and Telugu actor Sudheer Babu in a negative role.
