The action-packed film, "Baaghi," starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, may have opened to lukewarm reviews by critics, but the audience seems to be enjoying it. The Sabbir Khan-directed film, which opened in 2,750 screens across the country on April 29, has collected Rs. 23.07 crore within two days of its release.
The lead members of the cast and the director are, of course, thrilled about the numbers. Shraddha says the response is "thrilling" and "surreal," while Tiger was left surprised with the deafening sound of whistles at the single-screen theatre, Gaiety.
"It is very difficult to put in words what I am feeling right now. It is so surreal and thrilling. For me, the box-office collections are only a sign of the immense love and support of the audiences," IANS quoted Shraddha as saying.
Tiger, whose first film "Heropanti" was quite a rage at the box office, slipped into the theatre with his heart racing like a "speeding car." "I went in disguise, half-hoping at least some would recognise me. Luckily I was so well disguised that nobody recognised me. My heart was racing like a speeding car. I haven't heard this much whistling in the theatre since my song and dance 'Whistle bajaa' in my debut film 'Heropanti'," Tiger told SKJ Bollywood News.
Sabbir, who believes hard work pays off eventually, told DNA that the team wanted to make a film, which would cater to the masses. "The numbers are only proving that it is happening and so we are all very happy," he added.
