Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees," which was supposed to be released this Eid, had its date shifted to avoid clash with Salman Khan's "Sultan," and will now lock horns with two big-banner films. Ajay Devgn's "Baadshaho" and Hrithik Roshan's "Kaabil" are scheduled to release on Jan. 26, 2017, along with "Raees."
It seems the makers of "Raees" are really confident of their film's release, but SRK's fans are a bit disappointed with the news. As everybody knows, Ajay and Hrithik have a huge fan following and clashing with these much-awaited films looks like a bad idea.
Also, the makers of "Kaabil" and "Baadshaho" will not change their release date for SRK's flick, which entered the fray at the last moment. The release date of "Kaabil" was confirmed recently with the teaser, and "Baadshaho" director Milan Lutharia said there would be no change to the scheduled release date.
"We are on schedule and we were the first ones to announce the release date. We will not be shifting our release date," Bollywood Life cited DNA to quote Milan. And, it is not the first time SRK is locking horns with Ajay at the box office.
The clash of "Son of Sardaar" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" had fuelled speculations that all was not well between the two big stars. However, this time Ajay seemed to be unperturbed by the clash: He recently said in an interview it was fair from a business point of view.
Shah Rukh, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed the release date of "Raees" by putting out a joint statement that read: "It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that 'Raees' is highly anticipated. However, a film of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to January 26, 2017."
