An FIR was reportedly lodged against former Bihar Cabinet minister Awadhesh Prasad Kushwaha after the Election Commission ordered probe into a sting video purportedly showed him accepting bribe.
On Monday, Kushwaha had resigned as Minister of Urban Development and Registration, Excise and Prohibition after Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar Yadav demanded his resignation, said reports.
Janata Dal United on Tuesday replaced Krishna Chandra as candidate in Pipra constituency for the ongoing Bihar assembly polls.
The viral video, uploaded in YouTube channel JaiHind Bihar shows the former minister allegedly accepting wads of currency worth Rs 4 lakh from people posing as contractors based in Mumbai.
However, Kushwaha has denied the bribery allegations, claiming that the sting operation is "a high-level" conspiracy by his political rivals and said he would file a defamation suit against those behind the incident.
